The Village will let you Step back in time to explore rural New Brunswick in the 1800s. It also offers workshops, educational programs, children’s summer camps, exhibits, and unique culinary experiences. Hartland Covered Bridge: Dating back to the first decade of the 19th century, when builders in North America began using wooden trusses to construct long spans and covering them to keep the truss joints from rotting, the bridge is the longest surviving covered bridge in the world (391 meters long), spanning the St Johns River from Hartland to Somerville. It was listed as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1980.
